Norton Internet Security Conflicts with Microsoft OUtlook

I am currently using ACT in conjunction with Microsoft Outlook as my email.
Since upgrading Norton Internet Security I have not been able to send emails
out of ACT or Microsoft outlook without disabling Norton Internet Security.
Symantec has given me a couple of things to do, and non have solved the
problem. They have not succeeded in solving my problem. It's the old finger
pointing game. Any solutions folks?

Have you set the firewall to have port 25 open to your SMTP (outbound mail)
server?
