Not notifying me of new email

I followed all the steps to get emails notified on my
desktop when a new one arrives. I checked the correct
boxes where it says for sound and curser changing. I send
an email to myself and nothing comes up. I setup to check
email every minute and still nothing. What am I missing?

I'm assuming you are connecting to Exchange. If so, then the new mail
notifications are UDP packets coming from the server. Many things can
block these packets, and thus Outlook won't display you these notices. Try
the following article as a workaround...
