Not Responding

D

Doug Fox

A customer uses Office 2003. He complained that when he wanted to save a
Word or Excel document into a sub-folder of a folder, it would take about 60
seconds to navigate down to each folder.

The process follows:
When he clicks on "Save As", a Window pops up. He then clicks on a folder,
then there is no response, after a while, the words "Not Responding" shows
up. He waits for about 60 seconds, he can get into the folder, then he
clicks a sub-folder, he wants for another 60 seconds, he then can access,
then he repeats the process.

One can imagine that he is quite frustrated!

Any ideas/suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

Doug

Is this problem isolated to Office applications, or is it a larger problem ?
How many folders/items/subfolders in the folder in question?

It's just within Office applications, Word, Excel, Project, etc. There are
2 ~ 3 folders and a handful of files.

Browsing "My Computer" has no problem at all.

Any suggestions/solutions are appreciated;
