Notification of submission

Hey there. I want to use infopath to submit records into an Access Database.
The form would be deployed for general use in the organisation (anybody can
use it to submit data), but I would then like to know about the new record in
the Access Database. Can I configure the submission in Infopath such that it
will send out a notification of the new submission?

You need to add code for this. You can send an email whenever the form is
submitted to the DB. You need to do this with code of your submit button.

Thank you for the assistance.

I expected as much, but am a novice when it comes to these things. Would
you know what that code is?

Hi Lasca,

I can't get my form to work but I can get my button to work properly!!! go
figure...

Create a button, double click for properties set action to Rules & Custom
Code and then click the Rules... button

On Rules Screen click Add, then click Add Action...Selecting Submit using a
data connection and by selecting your data selection should update your
database... then click OK

Click Add Action again...Again select Submit using a data connection...next
to the data connection click Add..Select As An Email...and it will open a
form where you can add your settings, to, cc, subject, etc....

Hope this helps...now if I can just get my repeating section to work then
I'll be set...

Hey Cindy.

Thank you very much for the assistance. I had a look at it, and it seems to
be able to do what I want to do. Now I am stuck with my form not submitting
to the DB in the first place. Solve one thing, get another!! Looking at some
of the other posts, it seems infopath cannot submit memo's.

Regards

Lasca
