Numering chapters and TOC in a specific way

Antonio

Hello!

I'm trying to format my PhD thesis with Word. I'm trying to number the
headings of the chapter in a particular way. But I have not found how to do
it with Word.
Could you be so kind of helping me, please?

I will explain what I would like to get. I you could guide me how to do it I
would be very grateful.

I would like to have a style for Chapter headings in order to obtain a
document style like this:

Chapter 1
Title of Chapter one

1.1. First Section chapter 1

Chapter 2
Title of chapter two

2.1. First Section chapter 2

Chapter 3
Title of chapter three

3.1. First Section chapter 3

I would like that the number that appears with the Chapter (Chapter X) was
generated automatically (I think this I could do it). I want that the text
with the title of the chapter appears in a new line but I want they are
related to generate the index as I explain later. Should I use different
styles or the same style?
My problem is how to generate the numeration for the first section of each
chapter by using the numeration put in the style of the Chapter.
Other additional problem is how, from that styles to generate an index in
the following form:

1. Title of Chapter one
1.1. First Section chapter 1
2. Title of Chapter two
2.1. First Section chapter 2
3. Title of Chapter three
3.1. First Section chapter 1

My problem is how to relate style of Chapter 1 with its title to generate
the index.

Could you help or guide me, please?
Do you know if there is some template that has some similar?

Best regards,
Antonio.
