Tomorrow is the day we Americans feast & celebrate our "Victory" over The
Native Americans and give thanks that they didn't wipe out all the European
settlers when they had a chance. Today I Give Thanks that cultural and
Ethnic Differences are Gradually Becoming weaker and our world is becoming
more & more Conversant and accepting at least at a personal level (thanks to
the internet), if not as much as we would like it to be so at a governmental
level.

I Also give thanks that people like MS Publisher Have The Right To Bash
Other Cultures Without the experience of having to live in them. It makes me
More aware of the Sensitivities of the PEOPLE of other nations.

Now I am off to the Woods for 4 QUIET days. I will Look forward with Great
Expectation to Catching up on all The wonderful posts I will have missed
while away.

POW's Have rights as outlined by the Geneva convention, and as POW's I am
CERTAIN "those" Rights are Being STRICTLY observed, Because after the fact
the CAPTORS could (and Would) Be Tried as WAR CRIMINALS By The International
Community.

These "Captives" Earned The Status of POW By ANY involvement with the
military that the United States Declared WAR on.

When The WAR is OFFICIALLY declared OVER, POW's Will Either Stand Trial OR
Be Released Because Thier involvement with said military will cease to be a
threat to the military that declared war on their country.

Those held at Guantanamo are treated far, far better than they have and
would have treated their victims. These aren't innocent, law abiding
humanitarians chosen at random for the US to capture and hold. How legal do
you consider the murder of 3200+ innocent people on 9/11? What about the
civil and human rights of the Afghan women (and men) who were tortured and
murdered by the Taliban, of the hundreds of thousands of Kurds and Shiites
tortured and murdered under Saddam, of the innocent Iraqis being murdered by
Al Qaeda? What about the babies and small children blown apart by homicide
bombers? The despicable little group of prisoners being held at Guantanamo
would have cheerfully participated in these crimes against humanity the Bush
and Blair haters choose to ignore. This is Thanksgiving in America and I am
truly thankful that we have a leader in President Bush who will stand
against those who would deny rights to vast populations. I'm thankful that
we have splendid men and women in our military forces with the courage and
dedication to help free an oppressed people. I'm thankful that Tony Blair
and the armed forces of Great Britain are standing with us to make this a
safer and better world. And I pray for the safety and ultimate return home
for our troops, US, British and of the willing nations, who are serving the
entire world in the fight to overcome the dark, demented forces of hatred
and evil still slithering through Iraq.

a tenth of a brain that the US and UK and not the bad guys.
Unfortunately, some people seek not discussion nor debate, but simply
disagreement. Facts are not going to stand in their way, nor is the
betterment of humanity - they walk into a forest and can only see the
trees. A bird poops on their head and therefore the forest ought to be
destroyed. But they are a minority, a very vocal, a very wrong, a very
ignorant minority. I have offered to debate anyone - away from the NG,
but so far have had no takers. That leads me to believe the posts are
not rooted in truth or even belief, but in an attempt to anger. Thus, it
is easy to ignore them after a while.

You don't know they are not innocent. They need to be charged and tried in
a civil court with proper legal representation and resources. They are
being held illegally in inhume conditions.
You have no idea if any of these people held illegally had anything to do
with 911. You are indoctrinated to make you believe they are. Nobody has
any idea if they are guilty or innocent.

You are making assumptions again, and you have no idea if this is a
"despicable little group of prisoners".

Why does America support Israel. Israel are illegally occupying territory
that does not belong to them, and it should be given back.
The trouble is the US support the murdering activities and illegal
occupation by Israel. Israel should give back the land that does not belong
to them and that would be a great start to getting peace.

Bonsai bush make an absolute idiot of himself and the US in the UK. The UK
will not go and help you one little bit in Iraq.

But if a law has been passed allowing the prisoners to be held without
trial, how can you say that they are being held illegally?
And if they are prisoners of war, they are not entitled to a trial, as I
understand it, until the war has been ended.
If you want to change the law, campaign for changes in the law. Otherwise,
work out exactly what you want.
