Odd behavior selecting and switching between tools!

I find the switching between tools in OneNote sometimes extremely
unpredictable (and hence annoying).

E.g. I relatively often move item in a sketch around. Often I can then
lasso-select and shift several items in sequence, but sometimes OneNote
switches back to the pen-tool after each and every movement. The latter
then always causes me to draw circles around the objects I actually
intended to select, which I then always have to undo first, before I can
reselect the lasso and continue.

I haven't found any reason why it sometimes behaves one way, sometimes
the other. I would prefer if tools would remains "sticky", but at least
they should always behave the same, then at least I would know and save
me those tedious undo's!

The following seems to be a bug, but maybe it is also related to the
above: Sometimes when I pick the pen tool, that selection seems to be
ignored. After the selection the pen tool is highlighted (and thus looks
as if active), but when I then lower the pen and want to start drawing
then actually either the lasso or the text tools is engaged, i.e. my pen
movement - instead of leaving ink marks - suddenly select things or a
text-input box opens. VERY annoying!

Go to "tools" "options" and then click on the "pen" category. Does
unchecking "automatically switch between pen and selection tool" make it more
predictable? I know this isn't addressing all the issues you are describing,
but maybe someone who has a tablet can also respond.

The right click button on the pen causes it to switch to lasso mode if you
are in pen mode. Maybe you are accidentally pressing the button on your pen?

Or alternatively, if you select something and go to pen mode, the selection
is still valid even though you see the ink dot. Hence if you try to write
something on the selection, it will still be in the "move mode". You need to
tap somewhere outside the selection to get rid of the selection.

Hope that helped,
Ani
