Offic e 2003/Product ID problem

R

Randy Benzel

I purchased a version of Office 2003 - Professional edition. I went to
install, enter my product ID from cd case, and it proceeded to install. when
it was done, I clicked finish. I then went to run Outlook and it asked me to
enter the product ID again, which I did. It then says the product ID was
invalid and to try again. I tripled checked to make sure I was entering it
correctly but still get the error. It is wierd that it is asking me this
after I already entered it at the beginning of install. I uninstalled and
went through the same process with same results. Werd thing is that I can run
Access, Publisher, and Info but not Powerpoiint, Word, Excel, nor Outlook.
Any thoughts?

If your computer came with a trial version of Office 2003
preinstalled by the computer manufacturer, then you should have
uninstalled the trial version before installing your purchased
software. At this point, I suggest that you uninstall the
purchased software in Start | Control Panel | Add or Remove
Programs, uninstall the trial software, and then reinstall the
purchased software. See
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=836178 "You receive an
'invalid product key' error message when you start an Office 2003
program after you install Office Professional Edition 2003" for
more information.

Just that I am stuck there with you. Only I can't even get my computer to
find Office. I think the fact that I installed using AOL as my ISP might be
part of the problem. I am changing ISPs on Wednesday, but I need to get into
Office this weekend. The download status box said that Office trial version
download is complete. Can somebody tell me how to get Office to my desktop
where I can enter my 25 digit activation code?

Sorry about tacking on to a question with another question but it was the
only way I could get on to ask my question. Be patient with me guys. Thanks
Mary
