Office 2003 - how do I know if SP-3 installed correctly

I

Ian James

The title says it all really. I just installed Office 2003 Pro using the
'upgrade' option over Office XP Pro. I then applied all of the updates from
the Office Update site which seemed to install OK with no error messages.

The problem is that when I go to 'help', 'about' in any of the programs, it
just gives a version (build?) number with no mention of any SP. For example,
Word shows 'Microsoft(R) Office Word 2003 (11.6113.5703).

Is this normal?

The machine is running Windows XP Pro SP-1, fully patched.

TIA

Ian

Is /what/ normal?! Office 2003 has been on the market for four months -
there are no service packs! There have been a couple of minor updates, but
that's it. Hell, Office XP has been around for what, nearly three years and
it's only had two! Where on *earth* did you get the absurd notion that 2003
has had three in four months?! And, more to the point, where on earth have
you been downloading them from?!

Could you please explain exactly what you mean?

OK, worked it out. I did have Office XP installed but Office 2003 removed
(most) of this. What it didn't remove was FrontPage (since this is not part
of Office 2003 Pro.). The update I downloaded was for Office XP (or maybe
even Office 2000, as this was on there at some point).

That'll teach me to read the screen properly!! ;o)

Thanks for the reply.
