When we do a quiet, hidden installation of Office 2003
using a MST (i.e. "Transform") file we get the following
results:
1) IF there is an existing Office 2000 installation, the
installation rolls back and does NOT install (i.e. upgrade
mode).
2) IF there is NOT an existing Office 2000 installation it
DOES install (i.e. newbuild or "virgin" mode)
It appears to be registry related as:
a) we get this result even if we
rename "<systemdrive>\program files\microsoft office"
to "<systemdrive>\program files\microsoft office.bak" we
get the same result.
b) doing an uninstall of Office 2000 does not resolve the
problem.
Your help and assistance is appreciated.
