Office 2003 Pro "Cannot open patch package"

I inadvertenty deleted some Office 2003 .msi & . msp
files with the result that I cannot change setup,
analysis & repair of the appl. I get the message 'cannot
open patch package. Check .... etc." The same message
comes up when I try to deinstall Office inorder to
reinstall.

Hello Richard,

To resolve the issue, try the following:

1. Stop the service(if it is running) : Windows Installer by right click on MY COMPUTER - MANAGE - SERVICES

2. Start BUTTON - RUN - type REGEDIT - click OK and goto the following locaiton in registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\9040110900063D11C8EF10054038389C

3. Press the delete key and confirm the operation; close registry editor.

4. Uninstall Office 2003 from CONTROL PANEL - ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS

Try these steps and let me know whether the issue resolved.
