office 2003 pro freeze on install

I have purchased a microsoft office pro 2003 and on my vista machine it
freezes my computer and everything up when you put it in the cd, now on my xp
computer it works fine. I have to take the cd out and do a manual shut off to
get the computer to restart. Please anyone got any sujestions???

Where did you get that copy of Office 2003? Does the same thing happen with

Do other CD's work properly?

If you have a CD taht works on one machine but not another, the other
machine has a hardware problem, or the CD has an issue that happens
(completely by chance) to be seen by one drive but not another. Head
alignment and a scratch can combine to cause the CD to not work in one
machine, but be okay in another.

Also, you removed (uninstalled) the Trial Version and Activation Assistant
for the Office product that came pre-loaded on the Vista machine, right?

i bought it new off of ebay, it came in a microsoft package and not open yet,
it does have COA and the product ID. The disk is the Genuen Microsoft with
the basicly like water seals on it you get dif words in dif lights, or
angles. My computer seems to be freezing now alot when you go to my computer
or anything in there i was thinking about doing a complete reset and
reinstall everything in my computer to see if this fixes or not
