Office 2003 Pro won't install on Windows 2000 Svr

When I try to install Office 2003 Pro on Windows 2000
Server (SP4), I get the error message "The specified
program requires a newer version of Windows." Am I missing
something?

Thanks,
Ron

Ron,

I had a similiar situation with a Windows 2K Professional SP4
workstation. What i did was to open a command prompt, navigate to the
CDROM, and run setup from the command prompt. it launched and
installed just fine from there.

pro and server are different but alike. hopefully that helps.

Pats in 2004!

I was just having the same problem on windows 2000 Pro, Service pack 4, and running from the command line did in fact allow it to run. Seems strange, but I wonder if things are normally being run in a compatibility mode on my computer
