Office 2003 Product Activation Question

JBL

I have a question I don't think I have ever got a strait answer on. I am
looking to buy a new computer, and use my existing one as a backup.

What I want to do is remove office from my old one and install it on the new
one. My question is, how do you "De-Activate" this product on one machine
so that you can add it to another??

You don't exactly "deactivate." First do as you say, and move it to the new
computer. Hook up to the Internet. Then you may have to call M$ for
activation, and it should work.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to go through the call to Mr. Gate$...Oh well
if that's the process, I have no choice. Thanks for your reply.

Well you can try first to see if you can avoid it. No harm in trying.
