Office 2003 Set-Up Freezes

I have tried to set-up office 2003 professional on my home
computer. I seems to work until after copying files, it
just stops, regardless of how long you wait (is 8 hours
enought?). I cancel the installation (end up have to end
the task) and restart the computer and try reinstalling
and get the same.

Funny thing is, i can use office applications for that
user, but when I log off and try my "everyday" account, I
get an error about Owner having an installation already
started, etc.

I have a 1.7Ghz, P4 with 768 mb ram.
Windows XP Pro, with all security patches installed
(except SP1)
34GB free on C drive (where I am trying to install).
I have disabled both the anti-virus and firewall software
(norton, 2004) on the computer before trying to install.

Tried both a complete install and a custom (selecting
everything) and get the same results. Running the setup
off a drive partition (J:) for my setup programs (faster
installs, easier recovery, do not have to handle CD's so
much). I have installed successfully, but wiped the drive
and reinstalled XP Pro and all my applications.

Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Thanks,

John
