I have several new computers from Dell which come with XP
Pro and Office 2003 - SBE. These new computers with the
latest version of Excel and Word, are anable to open
files which are saved in public folders on our IBM As400
server. When you attempt to open the files, they do not
load nor do you get an error message. You can copy the
file down to the local drive and successfully open them
and you can even open the files from another computer on
the network (peer-to-peer no network client) which has a
shared file open.... All other computers on the network
run XP Pro and have Office 2002 SBE. The 2002 version of
office can open the files which residen on our AS400
server? But not the 2003 version? Any ideas? Has
anyone else run into this? Any ideas/suggestions would
be greatly appreciated.
