Office 2007 Beta activation

Same here. Very frustrating. I've been trying to activate the beta for 2
days now. At least I have my 2003 disk in the batters circle.....

I don't think any of us though that we did (well, i didn't at least), but how
are we supposed to beta test a product when we only get to use each software
application 7 times? (50 uses / 7 applications)

Interesting... So where should be leaving comments / problems with the beta
then?

Same problem as everyone else, no internet connection detected. Got this on
twp machines. I kept trying to get it to activate though and every once in a
while the error would change to either a connection error (not no connection
detected) or that the server was down for maintenance. Hopefully this will
get resolved soon.

Hmmmmm? I got the same message. I've tried everything. I disabled my
firewalls, opened IP ports - the works. None of these fixed the issue. Has
anyone tried to pass the 50 use limit?

Rudy here.

I have the same activaction problem here. Tried last night and this morning.
When asked, I left Office 2003 on my computer in case of an issue like this.
I hope they read these posts and fix this #$@# problem.

I consider myself a power user and a first hand impression is "wow". I'm
sure this will be corrected shortly.

The purpose of releasing BETA software is to get INPUT from users to improve
and or work out the bugs... So if they don't visit public beta uers groups,
how do they know if there are still problems??? Why release beta versions
for public testing if your not going to listen to the problems and help
people work them out? Your response was good, but really didn't anser any
questions....and missed the point. Micrsoft has to aware of this problem,
but for whatever reason is choosing not to respon to us. I have 35 uses left
before 2007 goes into it's limited mode.

Ahh - so there are plenty of people with this problem.

Perhaps that's the ultimate question - do we push past 50 tries? Similar to
Lost in a way - "what happens if they stop pressing the button"?! Guess
there's only one way to find out, but not sure I want to be the one who tries
it!

Oops, I meant to quote JoAnn Paules:

"The download page clearly states it has an expiration date. You don't get to
keep a "free version" of Office"

not morpheus. I assumed they were working on a solution, this was meant to
be a response to the quote above.

Oh guess what guys? You wanna know which features get disabled after
the
grace uses expire?

The most important ones i.e. the ability to save and make new
documents!

Well I must say, this really IS turning out to be a usefuly beta
indeed...now where did I put Office 2003...

R

Robert

okay. what's your point? isn't the purpose of a beta so that users can test
it out and give feedback about what is still messed up? If they don't check
the public forums, where is the proper place to submit error reports?

Download and install the "send a smile" feedback tool. (It lets you send
both smiles and frowns as feedback.)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...E2-BC0F-4403-B09F-7A677D55F274&displaylang=en

Also make sure you've turned on the Customer Experience Improvement Program
(round Office button, <program name> Options, Trust Center, Trust Center
Settings, "sign up for the CEIP" ).

Also send crash and error reports when prompted -- MS uses these to fix
bugs, too.
