Office 97 and Word 2003

....wasn't quite sure where to post this.......

I have been using Office 97 on a computer that has Windows ME as the
operating system. I was going to upgrade to the latest Office but I noticed
that it was not compatible with ME....???

The problem I have is that I have a need to be able to run Word 2003.

What if I install Word 2003 as a fresh install? Will there be any conflicts
with the old Office applicatons?

thanks in advance for any response.

Hi, cg. Office 2003 (including Word 2003) needs Windows 2000 SP3 or Windows XP. It will not run on Windows ME. Microsoft does not recommend it, but it is possible to install both Office 97 and Office 2003 on the same computer. See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=828956 "Running Multiple Versions of Microsoft Office with Office 2003" for more information about installing multiple Office versions.
