Office 97 PRO Will Not Run After Reinstall

I did a clean install of WIN XP PRO to upgrade from WIN
98 and did a re-install of Office 97 PRO. I still have
the original OEM CD, MS Certificate number and this is
the original computer I bought with the software.

The install went fine but when I try to run any of the
Office programs it gives me a message "This application
must be installed to run. Please run Setup from the
location where you originally installed the application".
I have uninstalled and reinstalled it twice and get same
message. Can anyone tell me what to try next?

Are you logged on as admin, not with admin privileges on a local account?

I am having the very same problem. I originally installed Word 95 it did not come with the computer. I hAD TO DO A sYST
System Recovery and I was unable to re-open word. I don't have the original disk. I now installed Microsoft Office 97 which has Word on it and it still won't open and I get a box saying"This application must be installed to run.
