Office 97 uninstall

B

Bill Leed

Just this week I upgraded to Windows XP Professional.
I have an old copy of Access (Office 97), as well as Office XP standard
edition, which does not contain Access. I have been trying to uninstall
Access 97. However, each time I try it only wants to Install Office 97, and
not uninstall it. One reason why I wish to do this is that whenever I try to
stard Access now, since ungrading to Windows XP, I am told that there is not
enough memory, and I should close some programs. No matter how many things I
close I get the same results.

The Office XP programs start just fine.

If Access 97 was installed separately from Office 97, then you should be
able to click on Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs, choose
Access 97 from the list of installed programs, and click on Remove.

In had installed Office 97, but chose to install only the one item: Access.
I have tried exactly what you mention, which called for using the
installation CD. But the only choice I was given was to install, not to
uninstall.

Well, we can forget about this posting now. I have re-installed Access 97,
and it is working just fine. I no longer get the error message that there is
not enough memory to run it. This is what was bothering me.
