Office 97

Keith

I purchased Office 97 years ago and now have lost the CD
and case. Does anybody know if some how, some way I can
get a replacement CD from microsoft (even for a minor
cost). I upgraded my computer and I would like to have
office back on it. OR will they let me upgrade to a newer
version? If so, wouldn't I need something to prove that I
have it, either currently installed or a CD?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You wont be able to get Office97 from Microsoft. Suggest you find a local
computer repairer (typically a one-man-band) or look around car boot (but
make sure you don't get a boot-leg copy.

I believe you may be able to get an up-grade. For some up-grades you need
to put in the original disk (just to prove that it is an up-grade and not a
cheap first install) so this is not an option for you.

I would suggest you bight the bullet and go for something like Office XP SBE
which will give you Word and Excel (the most that most people want) for a
reasonable cost and a lot less hassle.
