Office assistant character

My laptop came with office 2000 installed so I don't have the actual cd but I want to change the character in Office. How can I do it?

Even if your laptop came with Office 2000 installed, you should have an
installation CD. The vendor is required to supply this, and if he didn't,
you should take it up with him. However, you may also find that the
installation files have been copied to the HD, in which case you may be able
to update the installation without the CD.

They are a feature on the cd. You will need your cd or borrow another cd and
then you can change the character by right clicking the character and
choosing option.

All the characters ("assistants") that are available from download
from Microsoft are for Office 97 only. I find it odd that the Office
2000 assistants, most of which are the same characters (but coded
differently) aren't available except on the CD.

I found one freeware non-Microsoft character on the web at
http://www.nerdbird.dk/assistant/. He's fun, and worth a download to
see if you like him.
