Office license

I have Office Basic Edition 2003 installed on my work pc.
I will be receiving a new pc without Office installed on it.
Am I able to transfer my current license to my new pc?
My current pc will be going to a colleague that doesn't need Office as he
will be installing Linux on it. It will be used to run batch jobs only.

Check the EULA for Office. If it is an OEM copy (came preinstalled
when you bought the PC) it cannot be transferred. If it retail it can
probably be transferred. Check the EULA.

FYI: Office Basic only exists as a OEM preinstalled application. It isn't
available retail.
