Hi
I have recently reinstalled XP after a bug and am running Office 2000
however when starting it again got the message
"This application must be installed to run"

i have tried a reinstall with nol uck, i understand it's a registry thing
because of overwriting of the keys. Is there any other way

Thanks

What happens when you try to reinstall?

Have you tried uninstalling? That might actually be better if you
"reinstalled" Windows XP but haven't reinstalled your Office software.
Here's a KB article on removing Office 2000 CD1:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;219423 that might
help. Once you uninstall Office 2000, you should be able to reinstall it.

Hello

It really sounds like that you either did a Repair Install or just plain installed over the existing XP. You will need to remove all references to Office(any office app) in your Add\Remove and then reinstall again after a reboot.

Bye
