Does anyone know how to get the toolbar with all microsoft office products to
show up on your desktop?

Right click the Taskbar, Click Toolbars, Click New Tool bar, navigate to
the Start menu and Select the Office folder.

I don't think that's really the reason why. It was partly due to the
resources the OSB utilized, the icons, and I suspect there are other
reasons we don't know about yet. ;-)

btw, the linked article is for creating a new toolbar in the Office
applications rather than creating a Windows toolbar...

If anyone's interested, here's a post from MSFT Steve Anderson explaining
what *he* knows about the demise of the Office Shortcut Bar.

cost vs benefit, issues in the code (especially international stuff)

There is also apparently issues with the code for the Quick Launch Toolbar
since it periodically goes AWOL from the Task Bar.

Personally I think they are tying to many features into the OS most of which
have malfunctions of some type every so often.

Life would be easier if we could view the source code
