OFFICE PROFESSIONAL 2003

Just installed it on my Win XP. Word works okay but Excel spazed out! When
booting it up I get an error message "unable to read file". When I click
okay to get rid of the message Excel immediately generates sevewral
workbooks identified as:
s2bg, pspbrwse.jbf, INFCACHE.1, h, and caavsetup.

What the heck is going on? How do I correct it? I bought the CDs (2)
directly from Microsoft so they ought to be good.

If these workbooks are in your "C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office11\XLStart" folder, move them out of there.

In Excel, click on Tools | Options | General tab. The "At
startup, open all files in:" box should be empty. If it isn't,
make it so.

I went back and deleted the "C" and it appears Excel is working okay now. At
least it opens without the crap.
