Office Publisher 2003 email activity opens as a print publication

Using Publisher 2003, I click on "email" and then "activity". Then when I
select a template, it opens as a "print publication" instead, which doesn't
allow me to transfer it to the body of an email.

Any ideas why this is happening and what can be done about it?

That's how it works, although I've never done it that way.

I'd usually create the document first, then File | Send Email...

Thanks for the thoughts. I just talked with someone on the phone who said it
might be happening this way because I don't have outlook express installed on
my computer (company won't allow it--too many viruses associated with it).
sigh.

Select all, copy, open Outlook, select HTML format, paste. This works for me
with 2007 Outlook. It also works for 2003. Just remember, not all folks have
HTML email enabled.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly, I don't have Outlook Express on my
computer.

This works with Office Outlook, I haven't Outlook Express either.

oops..sorry. My mistake. I don't see Office Outlook on my programs either.

What are you using as an email program? Have you tried pasting the Publisher
email creation into this program?

Yes, I've tried that but to no avail. Actually, last night I ended up copying
and pasting the html code into an email and that worked--for everything
except the images. This a.m.'s goal is to figure out how to get the images to
show up, too!

Ron, when I select all with an email template in Publisher, copy and paste into
my email program, everything comes along, pictures and all.

Have you tried composing your email in your email program?

That's teh sad thing that started this whole thread. I can't get an email
template to open in publisher. only a print publication one. I probably need
to find someone who can get it to open as an email, send my template to them
as an attachment and then have them put it in the body of an email and send
it back to me!

Re: building it in email. I don't have enough skills to do that. I"m pretty
technically inept (as you can probably tell from my posts here

What template are you using? Can you send it to me as an attachment? Have you
tried to save it as a web page? Look at File, preview as a web page or convert
to a web page. Either will work.
