Office Runs Slow after opening Word document

I recently opened a Word document from a trusted source. Word
immediately seemed to run at a crawl. None of my other programs were
affected. Clicking out of Word brought my computer speed back to
normal. Since then, every Office 2003 program that I run has the same
slow crawling mouse and seems to be unresponsive. Virus Scan has
revealed NO virus.

I've tried to repair my install of Office, but did not fix the issue.

Can anyone give me an idea as to what may have happened? How to fix?

I am having the same problem when my users are accessing Word or Excel
files. seems to lock up the computer when they are working. Of anyone
knows how to fix this please let me know because I have mad people.
