I have a client who is using Office 2003. When they try to open documents
locally everything is fine but when they try to open documents from the
network it takes like 30 seconds to open even like a 24K file. They all have
Office SP1 and I tried Office SP2 in effort to help resolve it to no avail.
DNS looks fine and WINS looked good to but I did blow out the WINS database
and recreate it to try and help. All have XP SP2 and all computers both
laptops or desktops have 1GB + memory and 2+ GHz procs. Some connect
wireless and some wired. Other files from other programs (even AutoCAD!!!)
open without a hitch. Any clues?
