Office Toolbar

I have MS Office 2003 installed on two machines. In prior MS Office, one
was able to utilize a "toolbar", which I found convenient. Apparently, 2003
does not allow this option.

Anyone have any suggestions? I've tried the MS Office knowledge base with
no luck.

Thank you,

Ernie

Thank you for your advice and suggestion.

Yes, I do have the Office XP and Office 2000 CDs.

Is there an explanation why MS discontinued that option in Office 2003?

Yes, it contained programing bugs and the required operating systems
provide reasonable alternatives. In the apps Help look up Shortcut bar
for instructions.

What "Bob I" said, and the Office Shortcut Bar was a bit of a
resource hog too. You don't have to install all of the older
Office version to get the OSB. To install just the OSB from the
previous version, insert the CD and choose a custom installation,
click on the little black downward-pointing triangle to the left
of "Microsoft Office" and set it to "not available", click on the
+ next to "Office Tools" to expand the category, click on the
triangle to the left of "Office Shortcut Bar" and set it to "Run
all from computer", and OK your way out.

Thanks, everyone, for your insightfulness.

Obviously, I like the Toolbar; it is a convenient tool for me.

I wish everyone on this site health, good fortune, and happiness, to you and
your families.

Gees. I'm becoming maudlin and philosophical? Nonetheless, I do wish that
for you. The older I become, the more John Lennon's songs become relevant.

Hmmmmm. But, this is not the forum for such a discussion.

Thank you, again, for your advice.

I like the Office Shortcut Bar better than the Quick Launch Bar
too. You know what they say about trying to teach Odie new tricks.
