Office Update and Office XP SP3 and upgrades to Office 2003?

Why does Office Update keep asking me to do Office XP SP3 when Office XP was
uninstalled during the Office 2003 installation? How do I make it stop?

Hi Mike,

If you have any Microsoft '2002' series apps from
Office XP in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows
control panel you'll be asked to update them with
the Office XP core Service Pack updates.

If your edition of Office 2003 doesn't include all
of the 2002 series programs you had previously the
installer would have left the other programs in place.
