Office Upgrades

I have been purchasing microsoft office/word since version
2.0, all upgrades. This is becoming cumbersome to
reinstall each of the versions to get to the current
version everytime that I upgrade a computer. Anyone know
of better way to install the current versions without the
long process?

It's been a while since I did an upgrade however I thought
I started by installing the latest upgrade version.

During the installation it simply asked for a disk or
install CD from a previous version be inserted, it
verified it was a previous version and then went on with
the installation of the upgrade without a previous version
actually installed on the machine.
