office user name setting

We put Office XP standard edition into our standard build XP image - which
means that the user details have to be added later. We used a script to
update a large number of XP clients that gets the user info out of active
directory and puts it into office user details.
A number of users say that this has not worked for them and I want to find
out how widespread this problem is.
Is there any way to audit this setting in word or excel?
We have SMS2003 fully implemented, and AD 2003.

Hi Steve,

The information is stored in the registry as described here.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290528/en-us?FR=1
However, it can also be embdedded in templates on which new documents are based and is one of the reasons that files such as the
Word template, Normal.dot should be individual rather than shared ones.
