office works 7.0 PRODUCT ID NOT ACCEPTED IN REGISTRATION

I have tried several times to register Microsoft Works 7.0. After signing in
and filling the form, an error message is received that sez "please enter
valid product id #". Here is the product ID I'm trying to register. It is
copied from Help/about microsoft works: 69406-OEM-0400003-00000
The example given in the form has 3 numbers in place of the OEM that is in
my product ID. I want to register this product to receive updates
automatically. Tell me what I can do... (and be nice...lol)

My first idea is that the 69406-... number that you're using isn't the
product id but maybe a "build code." Check for a sticker located on the top
or side panel of the original software box and look for a different number.
If you still cannot register the software, the Microsoft help desk will be
more than happy to take your registration by telephone. Browse the MS web
site for the phone number.
