I've received a window that required me to renew my license and I went pass
the day it gave and now the Office function do not work any more. How do I
renew the license if that's the issue?

You need to assertain what version of Office you are using, see help>about
in eg Word.
There is no Office xp 2000
You either have a licence or you dont, there is no renew licence.

Hi John,

It's not clear from your subject line if you have MS Office XP on Windows 2000 or Office 2000.

Outside of the U.S. there was an Office XP subscription license. The information on renewal is available in this article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/293191/en-us?FR=1

You can, if you choose, purchase an Office 2007 upgrade, retail edition as an alternative and use the expired subscription version
as a qualifying product to install the 2007 upgrade http://office.microsoft.com/suites
You can also download a 60-day trial edition of Office 2007 if you are using Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or higher.

MS is looking at having Office 2007 also available as part of a new subscription service in the U.S.
http://microsoft.com/presspass/features/2008/apr08/04-18albany.mspx
as well as some non-U.S. subscription/prepaid offerings that have been in place for awhile

There are also subscription packs of software from Microsoft that require annual renewal to continue to use the software, but
generally the software itself won't turn off.
