Office XP help files won't index

Can someone help me help my help files?

Office XP was installed on my new machine today. In each
of the Office programs, the Help dialog box doesn't work
properly. The Index Tab and Answer Wizard tabs are both
blank. The first time Help was opened in each, there was
no message indicating that Help was being opened or
prepared for first time use, either.

This applies only to the XP apps. Help in my other
Microsoft apps--Publisher 2000 and Access 97-- works as it
should.

My operating system is Windows 2000
