I had Windows 2000 pro with Office 2000. I was not able to get the language
indicator on the taskbar (to enable display of languages like the Indic
language Tamil), as the language settings required me to insert the Office
2000 CD which I seem to have misplaced. I believe the language indicator is
necessary to be able to view special fonts in Office products. So I
installed Office XP on the machine, thinking that I can now get Tamil fonts
to work (I have successfully done so on my other computer that runs Windows
XP and Office XP). But I am still unable to get Tamil fonts to work. I
Is this because of some incompatibility between Office XP and Windows 2000?
I have gone to the Office tools --> lOffice XP Language Settings and 'add'ed
the language Tamil. But I cannot display the Tamil fonts in Office products
at all.
