Office XP Pro/Publisher 2000/Publisher 20003

We used to have office 2000 installed on our computer
with Publisher 2000, then I installed Office XP Pro
instead. I then installed Publisher 2000 again but now
when I switch from an Office XP app to Publisher 2000, I
am asked to insert the product cd. It seems Office XP
Pro and Publisher 2000 don't want to interoperate. Is
there a way of fixing this?
Or, if I purchase Publisher 2003 seperatly, will it
and Office XP Pro coexist peacefully?
