Office xp Set up error

I get the following error ugraging office 2000 to Office
xp.


Error 1402. Setup cannot open the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio
ns\Setup\Optional Components\MAPI.

Any ideas on how to fix?
