Office2000 & IE6.0

Hi all,

I recently had a TAPI problem that couldn't be solved and
I had to re-format my hard drive & re-install everything
(trust me, I don't even want to think about that problem).
I re-installed Win98SE and went thru the pains of all the
updates (critical or not). I also installed IE6.
But now I have problem install MSOffice 2000 Pro: after I
installed the first CD and re-start (as required), the PC
kept hanging with 2 little pop-up windows: 1 is the Win98
updating system setup and the other is Office completing
installation.
I think the problem is I have IE6 instead of IE5 -- I
wonder if there's any fix/work around or I just have to go
thru all pains from the start :)))
(I tried but couldn't find any help or related fixes from
support.microsoft.com)
Much appreciated for any help available,

Dao

No I have installed Office 2000 on a machine running IE 6. Try uninstalling
office. Then delete Temp files. close all running programs ---especially any
AV ones and try again

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the response. The problem is my PC couldn't
complete the installation of Office (it was hanging) so
there's no entries in the control panel (add/remove
software) and so I couldn't remove/repair Office.

The only thing I can think of is to try copying the Office CDs to a new
folder on your hard drive and then install from there
