OLAP Cube Build Time

J

John

According to Project 2002 Server, I have been building an OLAP cube for 3
days now. The only data in the server is the resource pool (about 300
resources) and 1 test project (with 2 tasks and 2 enterprise resources
attached). I also have about 7 enterprise fields (outline codes and text
fields).

There is no way this should take 3 days to build (on any modern day server),
so can someone help me out? I have already rebooted the database server and
the application server, then restarted the process - same result. Is there
a bug or flaw that I need to be concerned with? Is there something that I
am missing?

Thanks
John

I spent several hours on the phone with Microsoft (troubleshooting that
error 52 message that I previously posted on) and finally got everything to
the point that there are no obvious errors that are being reported. I
defined about 8 custom outline codes and a few enterprise text fields. I
populated the outline code lookup tables with the necessary data. I input
my enterprise resource pool with about 300 resources (attaching some of the
outline code data to some of the resources). I also published 2 projects
each with two tasks and two resources assigned.

The cube appears to start to build (it actually builds a time dimension),
when I look at Analysis Manager. But I click on the cubes tree branch (on
the left pane) and then click the metadata tab (on the right pane),
everything listed (cube, virtual cube, etc) shows up as not applicable.

On the PWA page, I have all items filled in correctly.

Thanks

John
