Old MS Works files in 03 MS Word?

Is there any download that is available in which I can open old MS Works
files (from late 1997 - not sure of the version of Works) in the current 2003
MS Word program? Word only gives option for Works 7 and 8 and when I try to
open it using the "all files" choice, Word says that it cannot open the file!
Can anyone help me out please?
