One Outlook Mailbox, two Machines...

Is there any way to access one PST file from two machines?

My wife wants a computer, but we share email addresses...

Is IMAP the only way to do this?

You can just put the .PST on a network drive that is shared, but only
one of you will be able to access it at once. I'm afraid there really
isn't any good way around that. Might be time to get a second e-mail address?
You can get them for free from hotmail.com or yahoo.com or any number
of other sites.

Here is a work around that might work for you.

set up outlook to access the same account on the second
computer. you can back up data from outlook from the
other computer and restore it on the second computer that
way you see your present emails and contacts on the
second computer. next edit your email account the method
is different depending on what version of outlook you are
using. in outlook 2003 select tools, email accounts,View
or change existing email account. highlite your email
account than select change. select more settings and go
to the advanced tab. place a check mark on leave a copy
of messages on the server. this will keep a copy of your
email on your internet providers server so both computers
can download the email. you have 2 choices on how long
you keep your mail on the server, after so many days or
after you delete your email from your deleted items
folder. make sure you go to the second computer and make
the same setting change. there is a down side to this you
can go over your mail box quota size on the server this
way if you do not matain your mail box like deleting your
old mail fron the deleted itemd folder.
