One part of my border won't print

R

Rob Drummond

I am trying to print some invitations and the right side of my border will
not print. It is on my print preview screen, but will not print. It is the
same distance from the edge of the page as the other three borders. I have
even tried just moving it WAY to far inside, and it still won't print. I
have tried everything with no success. Please someone help.

M

Morisot

Hi, Rob -

Also try "Select All" to see if part of a text box or something is covering
that spot.

It is the entire right side.

I have tried that as well and nothing is covering it. I have also selected
it and then selected 'Bring to Front' as well.

Interesting explanation as you posted your typical question to a question at
10:56 AM on the 17th, and Mary, as usual, followed you with the answer at

As far as it taking too much space...Mary's response took 1 kb of space.

I was going to leave it, but I will add this. The problem of part of a page
not printing is posted to this newsgroup at least several times a week it
seems. So often, that Ed posted the solution on his Blog as a FAQ. That is
why I jumped in and suggested that the question had been answered. You can
send your file to JoAnn, and if she is using a different printer than you,
it might work just fine, but it doesn't solve your problem.

I could be wrong...it wouldn't be the first time, but I would suggest that
you follow the link that Mary gave you and actually use the method Ed gives
you to determine the printable area for your printer. What you will probably
discover is that you can print closer to the top edge than the bottom edge,
and closer to the left edge than the right edge in landscape. This is true
for most printers. You said in your original post that your border is equal
on all four sides, but one side is probably outside the printable area and
that is why it isn't printing. But as I said, I could be wrong...

Send the .pub file to me at jl dot paules at gmail dot com. I'm
curious what the problem is and I'm betting it's one of those
things
that will make us all smack our foreheads and say, "Doh!"

It is the entire right side.

:

Is it the entire right side or just a portion?

I am trying to print some invitations and the right side of
my
border
will
not print. It is on my print preview screen, but will not
print. It
is
the
same distance from the edge of the page as the other three
borders. I
have
even tried just moving it WAY to far inside, and it still
won't
print.
I
have tried everything with no success. Please someone help.

I'll check the file at home. I don't think it's a margin error issue but
until I can take a peek at it, I won't know for certain.

We'll get it figured out. :)

I could be wrong...it wouldn't be the first time, but I would suggest that
you follow the link that Mary gave you and actually use the method Ed
gives you to determine the printable area for your printer. What you will
probably discover is that you can print closer to the top edge than the
bottom edge, and closer to the left edge than the right edge in landscape.
This is true for most printers. You said in your original post that your
border is equal on all four sides, but one side is probably outside the
printable area and that is why it isn't printing. But as I said, I could
be wrong...

No, she didn't answer the question already. It is WELL within the
printable
area for my printer.

Interesting explanation as you posted your typical question to a
question at
10:56 AM on the 17th, and Mary, as usual, followed you with the answer
at
11:16 AM on the 17th.

As far as it taking too much space...Mary's response took 1 kb of space.

DavidF

That explains why di didn't see it. I have an older computer with two
smaller hard drives. I clear things out within a day or so if I don't
need
them. It does make it tough when someone responds and all you see is
their
comment, not what they are answering. :-(

Did she? I tend to clear out posts in OE about once a day.
