OneNote 2007 feedback

As a veteran tablet PC user, I exclusively use pen input and have some
feedback for the developers.

1. Store pen customizations for each pen (the way it was in OneNote 2003).
It's very annoying that I can only have one customized pen at a time and that
any changes mean that I lose the previous customization.

2. Allow customized stationary. I often want documents with lines closer
together or grids with unusual sizes. Only having a handful of options is
very limiting, and even the Windows Journal allows users to set line spacing.

3. Reformatting handwritten text when telling the program to treat ink that
was created with the drawing pen as written text. This is separate from the
function that converts handwriting to text, I'm referring only to the
interpretation of ink. Most times when I tell OneNote to treat a paragraph I
have written as writing instead of drawings, it completely rearranges the
contents, often very inaccurately. For example, it would take letters or
words that extend to the right beyond the average right-hand edge of the
text, and place them below the rest of the paragraph.

4. Allow the removal of the navigation bar and the search field. (not so
critical since the inclusion of Full Page View)

5. Allow the disabling of the prompt to download Windows Search.

6. The moving of written text that has been selected with the lasso is
buggy. Often, the program rearranges nearby written text bizarrely and
creates large text blocks, as wide as the entire paragraph, even when only an
individual word is selected.

7. To deselect words, unselecting the lasso should be enough. I have to
deselect the lasso and write elsewhere on the document to make the selection
frame disappear, and that ink stroke is usually automatically deleted
immediately.

8. Input device defaults to cursor all the time. It should stay as the input
device I choose, at least for the duration that the program is open. Having
to select the pen every time I switch back and forth between running
applications is counterproductive.

That's all I can think of now. I love the program and it's my first choice
for notes on the tablet, and these changes would make it perfect. I'm also
very happy with the progress from OneNote 2003 in general and can't wait to
see what Vista will do for us Tablet users.. Nice work, Microsoft!
