OneNote sometimes won't sync

Working in an office environment, we sometimes get the problem that OneNote
will not sync. The PC is connected to the LAN.

Most of the time OneNote will sync shortly after being started up, however
every so often it will not sync. There are no errors shown.

I've checked that drives are assigned properly. Tried opening embedded
files, creating pages, saving email pages to OneNote to see if that will make
it sync but has not worked.

Any clues on what we can do to force it to sync? Selecting 'Sync now' is
not working.

thanks

If you click on the Green sync circle on one of the Notebooks, it should
bring up a sync status dialog box, which should give more details about why
a particular Notebook won't sync.

When certain Notebooks don't sync, are there other indications that Windows
or another program has restored the Network connection? Does the bubble
pop up next to the NIC icon on the Taskbar stating that the connection has
been restored? Does Outlook indicate that the connection to the Exchange
server been restored, etc.?

I've looked at the sync status dialog box and there are not any error
messsages. The PC is connected to the LAN, Outlook is working. People on
other PCs nearby have OneNote working. Network drives are correctly mapped.

After an hour or two it may suddenly sync and it is not clear why it then
does it.

nothing obvious in the event log that I can see. I'll have a look as soon as
it happens again.
