OneNote won't sync data

DiscipleTom

I have successfully installed OneNote...and have told Windows Mobile to sync
(checked box). When I sync, it gets all my other info, but not the ON data. I
notice when I click on sync settings, I get a notice back that "There are no
settings for this item type".

Just to make sure (because often missed by users):
Only items in the "OneNote Mobile" notebook's section "Notes from <name
of mobile device> are synched.
Did you place the pages to be synched in there?

If so: Any error msgs?

Yes, all of my data is in one place...where OneNote wants to put it. I
delayed writing back as I needed to get some more memory...I thought maybe
that was why it wasn't syscing...maybe it was smart enough to know there
wasn't room. However, with 2 more GB, I still have the same problem. I'm
thinking I should uninstall OneNote and reinstall it...do you agree?

I didn't answer all of your questions. My data is a directory called OneNote
Notebooks. Within that directory, there are 9 subdirectories and one file,
"Unfilled Notes. All of this is located where ON wanted to put it, in my
Documents Directory. Sorry I left that detail out of the last posting.

Does this mean that the pages you want to sync to the PDA are in the
Notebook "OneNote Mobile" in the section "Notes from <name of mobile
device>" ???

This does not really matter.
What matters is the question if you did put the notes to be synched into
this section, the only one which will be synched.

Rainald: I appreciate all your help...I've gotten the PowerToy...and it
worked really well once. Unfortunately, I had to reset the phone and
reinstall everything...now the PowerToy no longer works. It appears in the PC
version of ON and when I click "copy to device", it asks me if I want to
overwrite the file. Further, I can't find where it is trying to save the
file...I look in apps, microsoft, onenote an d don't see it. Within Notes, I
see the ON Mobile notebook with the Tom Smartphone file, but the only thing
in it is the default "Getting Started" file that comes with the ON Mobile.

Do I need to reinstall the PowerToy? If so, is there a removal step in ON
that I should take first?

If it was a hard reset, did you re-Install ON Mobile again?

The "file"?
Do you mean the "Page"?
Or possibly "Section?
Further, I can't find where it is trying to save the file...I look
in apps, microsoft, onenote an d don't see it.

As before:
Only pages in the "OneNote Mobile" notebook's section with the name of
the mobile device are synched.
What the PowerToys does is just copying the selected page there.
Within Notes, I see
the ON Mobile notebook with the Tom Smartphone file, but the only
thing in it is the default "Getting Started" file that comes with
the ON Mobile.

Do I need to reinstall the PowerToy?

Sorry, I can not say.
From what you report, I assume that it might have to do with the hard
reset and the re-install.
I had a similar thing with my PDA. After a hard-reset and a new install
I had *two* sections in the "OneNote Mobile" notebook.
If so, is there a removal step in ON that I should take first?

You may deactivate the Add-in first.
And close ON prior to uninstalling and re-installing.

Rainald
P.S. If this does not help, open a new thread with the PowerToy in the
subject. Hopefully John Guinn (you seems to be the PowerToys specialist)
might see it and help you further.

Like the Disciple, I am having trouble syncing. I have copied pages
to the Section called Notes from WM_Richard in the Notebook called
OneNote Mobile. They just do not show up when I sync. Of course, I
have checked ON to sync along with my Contacts, etc. It says the
syncing was sucessful. But nothing appears.
Tnanks, Voom
