I installed Office 07 Home and Student editon under my wife's administrator
account and now my 12 year old wants to use Word but under his administrator
account Office shortcuts don't show up in the start menu. Do I have to
install it again so he can use Word under his account?

This is very odd because you should not be able to install office 2007 as per
user.

What happens if you browse to the c:\program files\microsoft office\ dir and
try to run winword.exe manually?

If it works then you can just drag shortcuts from there onto the start menu
or desktop.

I was able to put a shortcut on my son's desktop just as you described. But,
shouldn't all users have access to the program through the start menu after
the installation? Did I mess up by not installing using the master Admin
account?

Yes all users should have those icons in the start menu.

I am not sure what happened that they are missing.

You can place icons (with windows xp) in this directory and they will show
up for all users.

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
