In any of the office 2003 programs on my W2k or XP Pro, when I try to open a
file it freezes if I try to use the dropdown at the top of the dialog.
I can navigate the windows using the back button or click on a folder and it
will open documents, but if I try to select the dropdown at the top of the
window, the program freezes for a while. It then comes back, but it takes a
long time.
This happens in all the Office 2003 programs. It seems to be because some
of my network connections are not live at the moment.
Why does it do this. I don't want to get rid of the connections as they are
set up be there when I connect via my VPN, but I don't want the VPN
connected all the time.
I also have a couple of machines that are not there anymore and I can't seem
to get rid of the network connections as it needs to be there before you can
close it. If I try to disconnect, I get an error that says it can't find
it.
But this is causing my office programs not to work correctly.
