In the "old" Outlook XP I believe I could open the build in newsreader
(Outlook Express) by clicking a button/link in the View-menu!?! Where is it
in Outlook 11?

BTW - I've already tried to add the News button manually - but there simply
was no News button in the Go category to add!?!

Sure there is. It's there. Keep looking.
I'll go look for the exact location for it the next time on on a partition
running Outlook 2003.
Are you running the final version?

Roady

It is under Go (as it was in previous versions). It is also there in the
BETA 2 TR version (can't check the BETA 2 version anymore)

Saves Russ from rebooting ;-)

Yeah... thats what I thought beforehand - however:

Right click menubar - "Customize" - Click "Commands" pane - Click the "Go"
category - Choose from THIS list:

Inbox
Mail
Drafts
Outbox
Sent Items
Calendar
Contacts
Tasks
Notes
My Computer
My Documents
Folder list
Shortcuts
Journal
Deleted Items
Web Browser
Internet Call -->
Internet Call
Folder...

And thats it... No "News" item!(

So now we've confirmed that the "News" option exists in Beta 2, Beta 2 TR
and in the final version--right between Deleted Items and Web Browser.
What version are you using? Yours is the only one without it. Do you have a
newsreader installed?

I running Windows XP prof. and Outlook 11.5608.5606.
Yes I have a newreader installed: Outlook Express - which I'm using for
participating in this newsgroup.

Then your installation is corrupt. Have you tried to reset your toolbars or
repair your installation?

R

Roady

Indeed, try resetting the toolbar by renaming outcmd.dat to outcmd.old and
try a repair of Office. Also did you do an update from the BETA or a clean
installation? An update from the BETA is not a recommended (and supported)
practise.
